법명 [영국] Radio and Telecommunications Terminal Equipment - 1999/5/EC
고시번호 고시일  2099-03-09
내용 Equipment classes under the Directive 1999/5/EC

Equipment classes are defined by Article 4.1 of the Directive. The European Commission has adopted a Decision laying down an initial classification (pdf [103 KB] , Eur-Lex).

The decision identifies two classes:

Class 1 equipment is equipment that can be placed on the market and be put into service without restrictions as indicated in Article 1.1 of the Decision. To assist manufacturers, the Commission, in consultation with Member States, identifies subclasses, for which this is confirmed. Subclasses 1 to 9 are listed below and include terminal equipment (subclasses 1 to 6, subclass 8), receive only radio equipment (subclass 7) and radio equipment under the control of a network (subclass 9). Subclasses 9 and above refer to radio equipment and are listed on the website of the European Frequency Information System (EFIS) which is maintained by the European Radiocommunications Office (ERO).

TCAM 26 clarified the scope of Sub-class 22 (SRDs in 2400-2454 MHz), its relationship with EN 300 328, and its legal regime for conformity. See the clarification document [21 KB] .

Class 2 equipment is equipment for which Member States apply restrictions as indicated in Article 1.2 of the Decision.

Further classes may be defined. The Commission Services however intend to associate the same alert sign as contained in Article 1.2 of the Decision to new classes.

Indicativeand non-exhaustive list of terminal equipment falling within the classes established throughCommission Decision 2000/299/EC of 6 April 2000

Terminal equipment attached to fixed networks and non-transmitting radio equipment:

Subclass 1. ISDN (ISDN Basic Rate, ISDN Primary Rate, ISDN U, Broadband ISDN ATM)

Subclass 7. Receive-only radio equipment

Subclass 9. Other radio equipment, which transmits only under the control of a network (Radio transmitters, technically harmonised in the Community for which Member States do not constrain their putting into service)

(the subclasses 2 to 6, 8 and 10 are obsolete)
